Cell Phone Recycle Program

Emergency 911 Cell Phones

The Lemont Police Departments Crime Prevention Unit has a free program for Senior Citizens in the Lemont Township area. This program distributes free reprogrammed cell phones to Seniors to use so they can call 911 in case of an emergency.

The Lemont Police Department also collects used cell phones. Collected phones are sent in to a company where they are wiped clean of personal information, reprogrammed, and tested before being shipped back to the police department.

If you would like to receive a free 911 cell phone OR would like to donate your used cell phones (which keeps them out of our landfills), please call Officer Ralph Menzione at the Lemont Police Department at (630) 257-2229, ext. 2478 or by email.
