Village Government

Type of Government

Lemont is governed by an elected Village President (Mayor), a Village Clerk and a Board of six Trustees, elected at large. The term of each elected office office is four years. Each Trustee is appointed by the Mayor to serve as Board Liaison and/or Committee Chair to a Village Department. The Village Board is committed to open and participatory government. Questions and comments of a general nature can be submitted to the general Email.

The Village Board meets on the second and fourth Monday of each month at 7:00 pm in the Village Hall. A Committee of the Whole meeting is held on the third Monday of the month at 7:00 pm. Agendas are posted on line at least 48 hours prior to the meeting. All meetings are open to the public. Regular meetings are televised and carried on the local public access station, Channel 6.
