Licensing & Registration

IL Department of Revenue - All businesses must register with the IL Department of Revenue. This link to the Department's business page includes an online business registration application.

IL Department of Financial & Professional Regulation - Certain occupations, due to their profession, are required to be licensed by the state of Illinois. The Department of Financial & Professional Regulation site includes a complete list of regulated professions and licensure requirements for each.

Village of Lemont Licensing - All businesses, whether licensed by the state or not, must complete either a business license application if a commercial business or a home occupation license application if a home business, to receive a business license from the Village of Lemont. All licensed businesses are included on the Village's on-line business directory.

Downtown Business Permit Parking: A permit allows you to park in excess of the posted parking time limits in the following locations: Front Street Lofts Parking Garage Upper Levels (310 River Road); I&M Canal Parking (south side); and the South Talcott Parking Lot.

Special Event Licensing: The Special Event Information & Application Packet presents an overview of the procedures and requirements for special event permit requests. It also includes all forms and information necessary to complete a special event permit application. After reviewing the packet, if you have any questions about whether your proposed event requires a permit, contact the Planning & Economic Development Department Special Event Coordinator at (630) 243-2700 prior to submitting an application.
