Electrical Aggregation

The Village of Lemont, along with 16 other municipalities, has been a member of the Will County Governmental League Electrical Aggregation Group (WEAG) since 2012. The sole purpose of this group is to pool its residential electrical accounts together in order to gain buying power for the purchase of competitively priced electricity from a certified alternative retail electric supplier.

Our current aggregation program, served by Homefield Energy (a Dynegy Company), expires in October 2017. After a thorough bid process, Dynegy was chosen as the new retail electric supplier. Dynegy is an independent seller of power and energy service and is certified as an Alternative Retail Electricity Supplier by the Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC Docket No. 14-0336). (Dynegy is a parent company of Homefield Energy. Homefield Energy will be serving Ameren Illinois for energy distribution.)

Eligible residential and small businesses will receive a letter, which includes an opt-out card, in the mail from the Village of Lemont in C/O Dynegy in early September. Below are the details and instruction that are outlined in the letter.

PROGRAM DETAILS
As an eligible participant, your account will be automatically enrolled in the program unless you choose to opt-out by September 22, 2017. Your new price of $0.07190 per kWh is guaranteed until October 2018. There is no enrollment, switching or early termination fee. This is a firm fixed all-inclusive rate.

NO CHANGES IN YOUR BILLING
You will continue to receive one monthly bill from ComEd. You will still be eligible for the same programs you are eligible for now through the utility, such as Budget Billing, payment agreements and energy efficiency programs. The only change will be in the Electric Supply price on your ComEd bill. Visit ComEd's website for more information on billing - www.ComEd.com. Service issues, power outages or questions regarding monthly bills should be directed to ComEd.

ENROLLMENT PROCESS
Once your account is enrolled, you will receive a confirmation letter from ComEd confirming your switch to Dynegy. Approximately 30 to 45 days after enrollment you will receive your first bill with your new Dynegy price.

If you choose not to participate, you can elect to be removed from the program by completing and returning the Opt-Out card enclosed with your letter or by calling Dynegy at 844-351-7691 by September 22, 2017.
