September 22:  "A Night of Magic and Mystery" |  Lemont Historical Society's Masquerade Ball
Lemont Slovenian Center, 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

The Lemont Historical Society is having a formal Masquerade Ball, A Night of Magic and Mystery! Tickets: $75 each, includes an open bar and hors d'ouevres. Entertainment includes Svengoolie, a magician, music, silent auction and a 50/50 raffle. All proceeds benefit maintenance of the Old Stone Church that houses the Lemont Historical Society Museum. September 27:  7th Annual Autumn Craft Beer Tasting
Gelsosomo's Pizzeria & Pub, 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

October 6:  Lemont Park District Fall Fest

This FREE event will feature LIVE music from Prairie Station, a scarecrow building contest, kids zone, amazing kiddie straw maze, snacks, hayrides and more! October 13:  Witches Walk
Historic Downtown Lemont, 6:00 p.m.
Calling all witches!  Get dressed up and join us for drinks, cackles, and treats on our annual "spirits" walk in downtown Lemont. After the walk you can invite your favorite Warlock for the Witches Ball at Gelsosomo's - with food, drink and a band. Details and registration information at

October 19 & 20 | October 26 & 27:  Haunted Canal Hay Ride
Starting at Lemont Safety Village at 6:00 p.m. | Last Ride Loads at 9:30 p.m.
Fundraiser benefiting Hope and Friendship Foundation and School District 113a Foundation. Hay rides chauffered by the Lemont Tractor Club. The ghosts and goblins that roamed the halls of Central School have been expelled and now live in the dark of the I & M Canal Trail. Take a ride with us as we tour their scary new haunts . . . remember, ghoul is back in session! Rides begin at Lemont Safety Village at 6:00 p.m., with last ride loading at 9:30 p.m. on October 19, 20, 26 and 27. Have a ghoulishly great time! October 21:  Lemont Jr. Woman's Club & Lemont Township Present "Scarecrow Festival 2018"
Lemont Heritage Woodland Sanctuary and Community Center:  3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
This is a free family event full of fall activities and opportunities to learn more about the woodland sanctuary. Walk the scarecrow trail and vote for your favorite, set off on an adventure...kids crafts and games, nature trail scavenger hunt, and finally rest by the campfire with cider and stories.
October 26:  Lemont Historical Society Presents "Hocus Pocus Movie Night"
Lemont Historical Society Museum:  7:00 p.m.
Doors Open at 6:30 p.m.
306 Lemont Street. Come see the Old Stone Church magically transform into Salem and watch the Halloween cult classic Hocus Pocus.  The 1993 Disney hit is fun for all ages!  Enjoy Hocus Pocus themed treats and even an appearance by everyone's favorite worst witch - Winifred Sanderson!  Admittance is $5.00 for adults and $2.00 for children.  "Let Us Put a Spell on You" on 10/26 at 7:00 p.m.  For more information, call (630) 257-2972.

October 27:  Village of Lemont's Halloween Hoedown
Historic Downtown Lemont:  1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
12:30 p.m. Line-Up at Legion Park

FREE Event. Line-Up at Legion Park for our annual Costume Contest & Parade followed by Trick or Treating at participating downtown stores and all the miniature houses at Safety Village!  Halloween jumpie at Budnik Plaza!  Haywagon Rides!  Take some Frightening Photos with our fun backdrop!  Fun Children's Activities!  Lemont Park District joins in the fun with a "Halloween Hoops" Contest.

October 28:  Lemont Township's Hooowl-A-Ween Event
Central Bark Dog Park:  1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
FREE Event.  Costume contest at 2:00 p.m. Trick Contest at 2:30 p.m.  Rescue groups with pets to adopt, pet product and service vendors, a 50/50 raffle to benefit Lemont Township assisted pet owners with veterinary emergencies and unpayable pet related costs, and a great socializing opportunity for fur covered and non-fur covered friends. October 31:  Trick-or-Treat
Village Trick-or-Treat hours are 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Lemont Public Library:  4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
It wouldn't be Halloween without a stop at the Library!  Popular book characters such as Harry Potter, Mother Goose, Little Red Riding Hood & more will be giving away treats!


October 1 to 24:  "Trail of Scarecrows" Competition! | Theme:  Heroes & Villains
VOTE For Your Favorite Scarecrow from October 1 to 24
Register at www.lemonjuniorwomansclub.org/scarecrow-trail-2018 from August 1 to September 12. Drop off participating scarecrows to Lemont Township September 29 between 10 a.m. and noon.  Everyone is invited to participate in voting from October 1-24 by 5:00 p.m. The top three winners to be announced October 26 and displayed at this year's Halloween Hoedown on October 27.

October 1 to 31:  "Treat or Treat" for the Lemont Food Pantries | Ongoing Throughout October
Fill the Paper Bags / Fill the Pantry Shelves
Fill the bags with goodies (much needed items) that will fill the shelves of our Lemont Food Pantries!  Drop off donations to the Lemont Township Office at 1115 Warner Avenue.  For more information on applying for or donating to our Lemont Food Pantries, please contact Lemont Township, email Terri-Oneill@lemonttownship.org or call (630) 257-2522, Ext. 13.

The Lemont Park District and Chamber of Commerce invite you to join in on some ghoulishly good fun...decorate your Lemont
residence or business for Halloween! There are two contest categories and great prizes will be awarded to both:

"Lemontster, Inc." Business Division
"Lemontster Manor" Residential Division

  • Registration is FREE and must be completed by October 29 at the Lemont Park District.

  • Decorations must be up by October 29.
  • Winners will be announced on Halloween day (October 31) on social media and Patch.
