On Friday, May 19, 2017, between 5:00 am and 2:00 pm, members of the Lemont Police Department will join police departments across the state to heighten awareness and raise money for the Law Enforcement Torch Run. Proceeds from this event will benefit Special Olympics Illinois. Last year Lemont raised over $6,000. We are trying to raise $7,000 this year!
Everyone who makes a donation to the Torch Run event will receive a coupon for a free donut. People who donate $10.00 or more will receive a Law Enforcement Torch Run travel mug while supplies last. The mug can be filled at participating Dunkin’ Donuts stores, free of charge throughout the day of the event. There will also be t-shirts, hats & pins available for purchase.
Members of the Lemont Police Department and the Lemont Police Academy Alumni will be excepting donations at the Dunkin’ Donuts located at the corner of Archer and Derby Road and State and 127th Street. During this event the Chief of Police will be exiled to the roof of Dunkin’ Donuts. Your donations will ensure that he is safely returned to ground level.
Anyone wishing to contribute to this event can drop off a check made payable to Special Olympics, at the Lemont Police Department, 14600 127th Street, Lemont, IL 60439.
If you have any questions or would like to make a contribution, contact Felix Luna at (630)257-2229 ext. 2473.
