The Lemont Village Board and I invite you to explore our Village which offers an ideal balance between big city amenities and small town charm. Located just 25 miles from downtown Chicago, Lemont residents have easy access to world class attractions. We are situated in a unique setting, rising above the Des Plaines River valley which showcases a landscape of charming church steeples and provides excellent outdoor recreational opportunities. Throughout Lemont are many excellent shops, restaurants and businesses to serve residents and visitors.

Mayor Brian K. Reaves

Mayor Reaves Bio

Mayor Reaves has been a resident of Lemont since 1993. His wife, Sherrie, was born and raised in Lemont, and together, they and their four children are active members in the community.

Mayor Reaves was elected as the Village’s part-time Mayor of Lemont in 2009 after having served as a trustee and chair of the Village Boards finance committee since 2003.

In October of 2013, he was appointed to the Commuter Rail Board (Metra) as a Director and was reappointed for a four year term in 2015. Mayor Reaves has been involved in various transportation issues over the past several years and previously served on the Transportation Committee and Legislative Committee of the Southwest Conference of Mayors.

Mayor Reaves is also member of the Board of Directors of the Will County Governmental League where he chairs the Legislative Committee. In addition, he serves as President of the Northern Will County Water Agency and has been a member of the Metra Heritage Corridor Alliance since 2009.

Mayor's Office

The Mayor is the Chief Executive Officer of the Village and presides at all regular and special meetings of the Village Board. The Mayor also serves as Liquor Commissioner.

Services available in the Mayor's Office: Retail Liquor Licenses, reservations and charity applications for Mayor's Drive for Charity, an annual golf outing held on the last Monday in April to benefit Lemont non-profit organizations; and Village Commission applications.

Village Board Strategic Plan

On January 30, 2012 the Village of Lemont embarked on a strategic planning effort with the assistance of the Center for Governmental Studies at Northern Illinois University.  The plan is intended to set the Board's vision for the next several years utilizing goals, objectives and performance indicators.

Meeting Minutes

The Village Board of Trustees meet the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at Village Hall. Agendas are posted at least 48 hours before the meeting and minutes are posted after they are approved by the Village Board.

State of the Village Address

Each year, the Lemont Chamber of Commerce hosts an event for the business community in which the Mayor is invited to give a speech on the State of the Village. The 2017 State of the Village Address will be held on Thursday, March 2, at Crystal Grand Banquets.
