“It is with heavy heart that I am writing to inform the Citizens of Lemont, Village Board, and Mayor of my resignation as a Trustee of the Village of Lemont.
I make this decision with the people of Lemont as my top priority. Due to increased responsibilities in my professional career, I am no longer able to commit the amount of time necessary to capably execute the office to which I was elected. The people of Lemont deserve someone who can fully execute these duties to continue to move Lemont into the future. I will cherish the time I've spent serving the Village as a Planning & Zoning Commissioner and Village Trustee for the past 8 years. It has been a true pleasure serving on the Village of Lemont Board and I know based on the work we have done over the last 2 years that the direction the Village is heading is a good one. I wish the Mayor and the other board members the very best for the future.
I would like to thank all of those citizens who have shown support for me during my candidacy and years in office. Their support means more to me than I can truly express. I can confidently say that together we have moved the needle on the goals we set for the Village. Businesses are returning to our vacant buildings and we have been smart with the developments that we have approved. I look forward to watching the community continue to work with our Village leaders as we all move down the path to a better tomorrow for our Village and will continue to help as I am able.”
Trustee Kwasneski plans to continue his term through to the August 12 Village Board Meeting.
