Cooling Shelter Locations

Excessive Heat Today through Monday - Cooling Shelter Locations
With the hot temperatures expected Saturday through Monday, June 16 – 18, the Lemont Emergency Management Agency (LEMA) reminds residents of our Cooling Shelter locations. During hot weather, keep cool, stay hydrated, and be sure to check on friends and neighbors, especially the elderly and those without air conditioning.

During their normal operating hours, residents can seek shelter from the heat at the following locations:

Saturday – Monday
Lemont Park District CORE building - 16028 W. 127th St. - (630) 257-6787

Monday
Lemont Township, 1115 Warner Ave. - (630) 257-2522
Village Hall, 418 Main St. - (630) 257-1550

If you need assistance after these regular business hours, call the Lemont Police Department’s non-emergency number at 630-257-2226.

If you have a pet, see if a friend or relative will take it in, otherwise, check with the cooling location if they will allow you to bring in a pet. Do not leave any animal unattended in a motor vehicle or enclosed trailer when the outside temperature exceeds 86 degrees Fahrenheit, or contain any animal so it does not have proper air circulation while confined in a motor vehicle, trailer, kennel, doghouse or any other type of container or structure in which an animal may be confined.
