LEAD SERVICE LINE REPLACEMENT PROGRAM
The Village of Lemont has begun our Lead Service Line Replacement Program as mandated by the State of Illinois. This includes replacing any water service lines made from lead in homes built before 1986, which the Village of Lemont will be responsible for replacing.
A Public Informational Meeting will be held on Thursday, August 10, at 6:30 p.m., Village Hall, 418 Main Street, Village Boardroom to answer any questions regarding the program and the questionnaire.
It is imperative that we collect your information so the Village can get the best estimate of the cost of the replacement project and determine a timeline based on the number of homes built before 1986 with lead service lines. Congress banned the use of lead service line pipes in 1986 to protect public health.
