The Community Development Department provides transparency for development projects that require a public hearing before the Planning and Zoning Commission with a full case file available for download, including applicant submittals, staff reports, and Board action. The Planning & Economic Development Division is responsible for issues related to economic development, land use, and planning activities: administering the Comprehensive Plan and Unified Development Ordinance; conducting long-range planning projects; reviewing development proposals; and implementing Village policies related to community development, historic preservation, and land use. The Planning & Economic Development Division provides staff support to the Planning & Zoning Commission and the Historic Preservation Commission.
