Clerk Charlene Smollen has been the Village Clerk since 1985.

The Village Clerk has the responsibility of attending all meetings of the Village Board and keeping a record of the proceedings in a journal. The Clerk is the official keeper of the Village seal and the records for the Village such as ordinances, resolutions and various other documents.

The Village Clerk is a part-time elected position and is assisted by an appointed Deputy Village Clerk. In addition, the Clerk serves as the Election Official for the Village of Lemont.
