Nighttime Driving Restrictions for Drivers Ages 16-17

Drivers who are 16-17 years of age cannot drive a vehicle from 10pm-6am Sunday through Thursday and from 11pm-6am Friday through Saturday.

Passengers for Drivers Under 18

For the first 12 months of driving, or until the driver turns 18, whichever occurs first, the number of passengers is limited to one person under age 20, unless the passenger(s) is a sibling, step-sibling, child, or stepchild of the driver. After this period, the number of passengers is limited to one in the front seat and the number of safety belts in the back seat.

Curfew

The hours for curfew for the Village of Lemont are as follows:

• For persons less than 13 years of age, curfew is 9pm on any day of the week.
• For persons at least 13 years of age, but not yet 17 years of age, curfew is between 11pm and 6am Sunday - Thursday and between 12am midnight and 6am on Saturday - Sunday.
• For persons 17 years or older, there is no curfew.
