Village of Lemont FOIA Request
Any request to examine and/or copy records of the Village of Lemont under the Freedom of Information Act must be made in writing. Online requests can be submitted 24 hours/day, 7 days/week through the Online FOIA Center. A written request for specific records received by mail, fax, or email will also be accepted. All requests must include the requester’s full name and contact information, including phone number and email if applicable, as well as a clear description of the records sought and the method of response., i.e., mail, email, pickup.
In addition, our FOIA Center contains an archive of published past FOIA requests which will include the response or documentation which you can access. Not all Police Department FOIA requests are published in the archive. The archive only contain requests since the center's implementation of February 1, 2014.
FOIA Directory
The Illinois Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140/1 et seq.) requires, at 5 ILCS 140/4, that each public agency in the State of Illinois, such as the Village of Lemont, make available an informational directory setting forth the methods whereby the public may request public records, designate who have been named Public Information Officers, along with other information that is appropriate in the proper administration of the Act's requirements.
