The Village of Lemont will hold a public hearing to share potential enhancements to the Heritage Quarries Recreation Area, as required to submit an application for an Open Space Land Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) grant, which would be used to help pay for the improvements.

Place: Lemont Public Works, 16680 New Avenue, Lemont, IL 60439

The proposed project consists of the following: 

• Paving roadways leading to parking lots 
• Cape seal parking lots 
• Additional fishing pier 
• Natural play area
• Two additional shelters, one dedicate to paddle sports, one dedicated to trails/crossing 
• Signage/Wayfinding 
• Additional benches 
• Trees to create natural promenade

Without a successful grant application, these enhancements may not be feasible.

Should the Village be awarded an OSLAD grant, there will be additional meetings and discussions to follow on proposed improvements related to the grant.
