Recycle-by-Mail Program

Waste Management Announces Recycle-by-Mail Program, Think Green from Home.

This program offers residents a convenient and affordable way to recycle alkaline batteries, CFL light bulbs, medical sharps, and electronic waste. For more information on this program, visit the Think Green from Home website.

Appliances & Tires Disposal

Household appliances, air conditioners, heat pumps, water heaters, furnaces, and boilers have been banned from landfills. Automotive tires have also been banned.

To dispose of these items, please contact a local appliance business for recycling or collection information.

Toxic Products Disposal

Toxic products such as automotive batteries, oil base paints, insecticides, oil, antifreeze, etc. cannot be collected through your residential pick-up. The Village provides an annual Fall Recycling Event to dispose of used motor oil / fuel / lubricant oil and antifreeze.

Other Disposal Options

For tips on where to dispose of these at other times of the year contact the Will County Waste Services Division at 815-727-8834.
