Lawn Sprinkler Valve Testing Required Annually

The State of Illinois requires that a back-flow prevention assemblies be installed on all hazardous cross - connections in an effort to keep our water supply safe. These assemblies must be tested and certified every year to ensure that they are working properly. The Village of Lemont has partnered with BSI Online to assist in administering the back-flow program in our community.

All annual back-flow assembly test reports must be submitted electronically via the BSI Online System by the testing company.  Please note that there is a nominal filing fee per test report submitted.  Each resident who owns a back-flow assembly (RPZ valve) will be sent a notification letter from BSI with a Customer Confirmation Number (CCN). This number must be given to the tester in order for the reports to be properly filed with BSI. It is the residents responsibility to hire a licensed back-flow tester to perform the annual test and certification of the back-flow assembly(s).  Please note that BSI does not test back-flow assemblies.

For any questions, and/or to verify when your back-flow test has been filed, locate a list of testers in your area, or simply learn more about back flow, please visit the BSI Online website, or contact BSI by email or by phone at 800 414-4990.

Any residents wishing to permanently disconnect their lawn sprinkling system must contact the Village of Lemont Building Department at 630-257-1580.
